At Wild Roots, we strongly advocate for early music education in the form of private lessons and group music. In our music programs, children are exposed to instruments, music theory, composition, performance, and creative team collaboration.
As the children learn about music, they are developing in many other aspects, which will have a lifelong impact.
- Music introduces creativity and imagination.
Music composition, instruments, and exploration of sounds and rhythms awakens the child’s spirit and curiosity. A new world unfolds, and imagination is heightened. - Music lessons work out both sides of the brain.
Music lessons develop both right and left sides of the brain. Learning music increases creativity and talent, as well as the mathematical and analytical mind. - Learning an instrument and performing songs boosts self-esteem and confidence.
Children from an early age can feel confident that their hard work pays off, when able to practice and learn a musical piece, especially when performed for family and friends. This confidence will certainly carry over to other aspects of a child’s self-image. - Music assists children academically and cognitively.
Years of research has indicated that music plays a great role in developing cognitive skills such as memory and concentration. Music also: teaches foreign language through music terms in other languages, improves mathematical and language skills, instills discipline, and refines the auditory sense. - Working together in a music class improves team building and appreciation for others.
Our group music classes not only teach music theory and exploration of various types of music, but it mainly focuses on making music together as friends. Performing as a group after practicing for several weeks bonds the children and fosters collaboration! - Music is FUN!!
Last but not least- learning and exploring music is fun and enjoyable, which will provide wonderful childhood memories and a hopefully a lifelong appreciation for music!
