Do you believe in heroes? We do.

We believe inside each person is the potential to be a hero; to do right, to shape the world around them to meet the needs they see, to not back down or give up in the face of adversity or even failure.

As an Acton Academy, we believe that each child that walks through our doors is a hero, capable of the extraordinary, with the ability to change the world in profound ways.
It’s our intent to help guide children into their destiny by first turning learning upside down. Rather than pursuing the traditional style of learning to know, where children memorize and readily recite rote facts and figures, we believe in learning to learn, learning to do, and learning to be. Our goal is to provide the tools and methods for children to master the art of learning how to learn and to learn how to be in relationship with others. Our philosophy is rooted in the idea that character is integral to a life of meaning. We believe clear thinking leads to good decisions. Good decisions lead to good habits. Good habits lead to character and character leads to destiny.

Through active learning including the use of game-based programs for core skills, Socratic discussions to sharpen critical thinking, and hands-on real-world projects children become resourceful thinkers who can do far more than we ever imagined.
