At Wild Roots, Childhood is Nurtured, Not Rushed
Children Thrive in Natural, Enriching Environments
Device-free classrooms and outdoor spaces with wooded jungle gyms and gardens are thoughtfully designed to nurture tactile discovery, open-ended exploration, and curiosity. Children find adventure, play with animals and instruments, cook, garden, do yoga, learn about different cultures, & more!
We Encourage Your Child’s Independence
With open-ended work, training on inner discipline, and role models found in their peers — children become more independent, inquisitive and self-starting.
Building Skills That Last a Lifetime
Early childhood education is powerful. We are not just preparing children for the next academic rung, but to become capable, proactive, conscientious human beings with social grace and peaceful attitudes.
See Your Child Flourish through a Balanced Approach to Education
Montessori Purpose + Reggio Creativity = Our Secret Sauce!
At Wild Roots, we have a completely unique approach. We blend the structure of Montessori to build focus, responsibility, and inner discipline with the open-ended exploration of Reggio Emilia. The result is a balanced, intentional environment where structure supports imagination — and where children grow naturally into capable, thoughtful, and deeply curious learners!
From Montessori, children gain independence through meaningful, real-world work. They use real tools, care for their environment, and move at their own pace. See this in the garden, and when children prepare their own snacks for themselves and their classmates!
From Reggio Emilia, they gain creative confidence. Through collaborative projects, artistic exploration, and guided inquiry, children are encouraged to ask questions, follow their curiosity, and express their ideas in powerful ways. This approach really shines in our art studio (The Atelier!).
Educating Children Age 6 Weeks to 6 Years….
With Mixed Age Classrooms for Ages 2.5 – 6!
While some people assume that smaller, same-age classrooms create better learning, in reality, mixed-age groupings foster deeper development.
Older children model focus and responsibility. Younger children are inspired to rise to their level, seeing role models in their classroom peers, not just an authority in the teacher. Instead of competition, older children practice mentorship, patience, and leadership — creating a more peaceful and purposeful classroom.

Sage Room
Young Toddlers
Ages 12 – 24 Months
More Information
The first few years of a child’s life are the most formative years. It is a time when children effortlessly absorb concepts and habits. It is also the period when roots for a love of learning are established. In the Sage classroom, we want to make sure that foundation is strong. The Sage classroom bridges the gap between infancy and full toddler independence, where the child learns how to care for and express themselves more sufficiently.
Sage Room Toddlers spend their time exploring a variety of basic lesson materials in all areas, to facilitate both large and small motor development as well as lots of sensory exposure! Early language, mathematics, and science are also explored through use of concrete materials and investigations in nature!
Rosemary Room
Toddlers
Ages 2 – 3 Years
More Information
The older toddlers of Rosemary Room are enthusiastically developing more curiosity and motor skills. Wild Roots provides this age group a carefully planned environment that allows for various hands-on sensorial discoveries, social interactions, and individual achievements. We also take time to assist the children in learning and practicing grace and courtesies.
Our supportive teachers understand the unique responsibility of ensuring that each child is nurtured and respected in a way that encourages growth in a safe place. In the Rosemary Room and outdoor space, children are exposed to age appropriate learning materials and equipment that stimulate the mind, advance muscular development, and encourage a natural wonder of the world around them.
